President Obama at David Letterman

On September 5, I posted about a guy dying to do Letterman. It was really fascinating and worth a moral lesson too. According to Yahoo!'s article today Obama laughs on Letterman, the President came to the show because of the heart-shaped potato. Indeed it was really about the potato which Obama really like to see for himself.

That's seems to be an odd reason. For the rest of the taping, issues about health care and war in Iraq has been raised to the president and some audience found his answers irreverent.

On health care issue,

Obama also had his most irreverent answer yet on the question of whether some of the vitriolic reaction to his health care plan is driven at least partly by racism.

"First of all, I think it's important to realize that I was actually black before the election," Obama said to huge laughs from Letterman and the audience.

On Iraq war:

Obama said he won't make a decision on sending in more troops, though, until he completes a comprehensive review of the war effort and settles on his next strategy.

"I'm going to be asking some very hard questions," Obama said.

 Despite those President's responses, he indeed enjoy the show.

Obama's speech outburst Rep. Wilson

At the Yahoo! featured post tonight (Philippines) I noticed the picture of President Obama and Rep. Joe Wilson with caption The night's defining moment.

Here's the score, Obama delivered his speech with some harsh words towards his critics. Rep. Joe Wilson reacted and shouted "You lie!. Rep. Wilson was pointing to Obama's claimed his plan wouldn't offer free care to illegal immigrants.

Sen. Lindsey Graham was disappointed with the Obama's speech and says it made it more difficult. "He appeared to be angry at his critics and disappointed the American people were not buying the proposals he has been selling. ... If the Obama administration and congressional Democrats go down this path and push a bill on the American people they do not want, it could be the beginning of the end of the Obama presidency." (yahoo news).


Most of the US citizen believe that health care program is very unsatisfactory, find it hard to avail at times and long for reform.

For the past weeks, Americans has been waiting for Obama's outline for health care program reform and yet he failed to do so. Which I think as one of the reasons why Obama's speech outburst his critics.
